At Seattle University’s 20,000-sq.-ft. Clinical Performance Lab—just blocks from campus—you’ll apply classroom knowledge in realistic, hands-on scenarios. With access to high-, mid- and low-fidelity manikins, three simulation suites and trained actors, you’ll master both clinical skills and communication while practicing family-focused care across the lifespan.

Family Nurse Practitioner

Flexible Entry Paths for RNs, BSNs and Non-Nurses

Whether you are a practicing RN, BSN or a college graduate from another field, we have a degree path for you. If you’re a registered nurse, you’ll complete a three-year program of advanced practice and doctoral coursework. If you hold a bachelor’s degree in another field, the Advanced Practice Nursing Immersion (APNI) DNP path offers a direct-entry, four-year program. In your first year, you’ll focus on prelicensure coursework and preparation for the NCLEX-RN exam, followed by advanced practice and doctoral studies in years two through four.

ANCC and AANPCB Certification Exams
Graduates of the Family Nurse Practitioner DNP are eligible to sit for the FNP certification exams offered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB).
